¢Ñ THE BEAUTY OF THE EAST
¢Ñ The culture all over the world has globalized.
On the exhibitions we can meet with the art of
different countries whose form and style are
the same as ours. The same thing happens with
the music and the mass culture. However,
what attracts us most in the art of other cultures
are those elements which contain some national
features and are common part of the traditions
ignored by us. The best evidence for this could
be the show of the Korean group Tiat Moo entitled
¡°A Dream of Butterfly¡± performed on the Rose
Square in the castle.I came late to the spectacle,
so it resulted a little bit hard for me to
understand its logic and meaning. Yet the atmosphere
of the show itself and, above all, its poetic
scenography and music made a big impression.
¢Ñ The Korean performance takes place in a white box
made only of the paper. The characters which appear
in the show move little and in the ritual way.
Their movement is completely subordinated to the
game of light and shadow and to the live music.
The motion of some objects is very interesting,
as well. These objects are controlled by the
strings pulled by the people situated outside the
stage. This is a beautiful spectacle due to its
visual and auditive aspects and what is more the
artists insist that it should be treated as a kind
of therapy. And the final ritual! After the applause,
the actors ask the audience to pass through the box
and they themselves stand at the exit door to say
    goodbye to every spectator separately.
